Control Panels
In answer to a number of recent emails, I am planning to hit the shop again in the 'near' future. Rather than open the Store at that point, what I am doing is adding to a list of persons who are interested in the Single Player panels (or Trackball panels). You can email me, letting me know what your specific wants, and when I have definite shop date(s) scheduled, I'll email you to confirm and finalize your order. What this will do is allow me to make optimal use of the shop time as well as keeping you from having to check back often to see if the store is open. I cannot give a timeframe for all this right now but feel free to contact me if you'd like added to the list. You are in no way committed to purchase until I begin the actual work. Thank you to everyone for your continued interest.

Tony L's BarTop
Tony L has sent me pictures of his BarCade.  He based the design on a mixture of Menace's cabinet and my design.   From his email to me:

"I have the unit running on an AMD Duron 1300 with 256 MB memory & an 80 GB hard drive. I rounded it out with a 17 inch flat panel monitor & a super joystick from HAPP. To keep it simple, I am using MAME32 with Windows ME.

I have all of the cabinet plans loaded into a CAD program and everything is
cut using an OMAX WaterJet. Because its computer controlled the pieces come
out perfect. Even the control panel holes are cut. There is a little hand
finish work required to bevel the back pieces and for the routed bits, but
all of the major pieces are ready for assembly literally in 10 minutes.
(This is a HUGE time saver) From there its just standard stuff with the PC &
monitor."

I am very impressed with how polished the cabinet is.  Puts mine to shame.  Great work, Tony!  For more pictures, check out the Examples page.  And for a related item...

Tony L's BarTop Sales
Tony has changed his mind as to what his next cabinet will be constructed of: oak plywood instead of the black melamine.  What this means is he has a bit of melamine left over.  He has decided to make a number of these bartop shells from the remaining melamine stock and offer them for sale.  The price has been set at $100 per shell, plus S&H, which sounds quite reasonable to me.  Any questions or orders can be directed to Tony at "tony at lcnonline.net".  There is currently an ebay auction for a shell and one for the completed cabinet, which he is selling to make room (and money) for the next cabinet.

Update to the Z26 Writeup
Jim A., an astute visitor, wrote me about my Z26/Mamewah Writeup.  It seems that my Atari2600.ini file was not correct for Mamewah versions 1.61 and later.  I believe my cab's version is 1.51.  After a bit of research, we got it working.  The .ini file has been added to the writeup.  Thanks Jim!
