Dream Arcades Cocktail Power Switch Mod
My buddy Steve Welander (aka GadgetGeek on BYOAC) has been enjoying his shiny new cocktail table since winning it in December.  I saw it firsthand at his Super Bowl party and must agree that it looks very sharp.  Steve decided recently that the cabinet needed an external power switch and set about adding that.  He wrote up how he accomplished this and forwarded it to me, along with some helpful pictures.  The write-up can be found on the Projects page.

Jerry Z's cabinet
Another visitor sent in pictures of his recently completed cabinet.  Jerry, from WV, modified the plans a bit and created this beauty.  Housed within is a used PC and monitor he purchased for the project, which is always a great idea to keep costs down.  His wife created the beautiful bezel consisting of a number of classic arcade characters, which I think looks great.  Additional pictures can be found on the Examples page.

Congrats on the great job, Jerry.  Now go enjoy the fruits of your labor.

X-Arcade Pre-Production Two player with Trackball Panel
Element51 at BYOAC forums contacted XGaming recently with a request to add a trackball to their Two-player panel.  XGaming obliged and created a limited number of the prototype.  Element51 was kind enough to post some pictures and a review.  The price was $199.95 shipped, which I feel is a fantastic price.  If this were available three years ago, it might have been a lot longer before I constructed my own control panel.

An except from the review:

"Whats Included:
-Pre-production X-Arcade Dual/Trackball (no X-Arcade logo or printing on face, no retail packaging)
-12 Atari Games
-6 Midway Classics
-Lifetime Warranty
-$199.95 including shipping

Extremely limited quantity available, must confirm order by email/phone.

ArcadeCab's Two-Year Anniversary!
ArcadeCab has been in existence for two years.  I initially had a site on tripod (which still exists as a placeholder) which I quickly outgrew.  The cabinet plans were moved and the site slowly grew from there.  Projects and news items have been added to the site that I've found interesting and thought would provide value to visitors.  Another purpose has been to help me remember how I did something when I need to replicate it (Mamewah and the Atari setup are two examples).  I began selling the Ultra-Trackball controller in March of '04, after seeing a hole in the market while Xgaming developed their own.  Other products have come and gone.  Traffic has remained steady and popular searches bring new visitors every day.  Mamewah, the cabinet plans, Visitor Pics, and the Barcade plans are among the top draws.

Thanks for visiting!
